Voluntary municipal service; application

Voluntary services are tasks that the local authority sets itself. It is free to decide whether and how to fulfill these tasks.

For example, certain subsidies, grants, reductions or concessions can be offered as voluntary services. These can then be applied for.

Examples

• Promotion: e.g. cultural promotion, cargo bike promotion, promotion for the purchase of old houses, promotion for the construction of a rainwater cistern
• Subsidy: e.g. for composters, reusable diapers, diaper bags, soundproof windows, energy advice, projects with children and young people, repair and design of buildings, training costs for music lessons
• Reduction: e.g. for residual waste bins
• Discounts: e.g. for local public transport, a so-called "district pass"

Switch to reusable diapers!

Each baby needs around 4000 to 5000 diapers during the changing phase. With disposable diapers, this amounts to more than 1 ton of diaper waste per child. Apart from the enormous amount of waste, the production of disposable diapers has a heavy impact on the environment.

Why reusable diapers?

Modern cloth diapers are just as easy to use as disposable diapers.

A lower volume of residual waste can also save on waste charges.

Our support program

The city of Erlangen subsidizes the purchase of new and used cloth nappy systems (overpants, cloth diapers, washable inserts, diaper fleece) once with 25 percent of the invoice amount, ErlangenPass holders receive 50 percent. The maximum subsidy is 200 euros per child.

• Your main residence is in the city of Erlangen
• The residential property is connected to the municipal waste disposal system
• The invoice must clearly state that the purchase is for reusable diapers. The invoice and proof of payment must be submitted
• The child is not yet one year old at the time of application
